Time I Was Judged Unfairly free essay sample

Wally Treated and Judged unfairly There was a time back in grade school when I was people had the unjust judgment of who I am as a person because I was a little different from everyone else. I have always been bigger in size than most people and that hasnt changed today. I would wear different attire than other people because of the area I grew up in and the size of me. I would also be into hip hop music because of who I grew up with; however, I was the only one that only listened to hip hop because everyone was raised to not sites to the language they spoke In those songs. When I was a kid and didnt dress or look like everyone else it would be difficult for me to be included in some groups either out of fear by some of the smaller kids or flat out disgust at me being the biggest guy in the class. We will write a custom essay sample on Time I Was Judged Unfairly or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I am still a husky guy to this day; however, I am going to try to cut down a lot because I feel In this society today you have to be thin or average to be accepted. Unfortunately have become less and less happy with my weight and appearance ND its caused me to doubt myself and has hindered some of the better times of my life. There are always facts about America being the most obese country in the world and I see many health commercials that are concerned with child obesity. I hated being Judged because of my weight, especially when I was in grade school and it caused me to react in the wrong way by becoming a tough guy. This attitude I developed almost cost me my catholic education. Despite this, I did find a way to Just hold back and finish my catholic education. The clothes I would wear would be all loose on me which again wasnt the way everyone dressed in shirts that they said fit but to me seemed tight. On dress down days I would wear my baggy clothes and see the odd stares from classmates who wore there preppy clothes that fit and wasnt that lose. The shorts I would wear would be a little ghetto In the sense they pretty far past my knees and I would rarely wear cargo shorts. There was an African American teen influence in my style because I would hang out with them at times in my neighborhood of Tycoon. If someone made a remark about me I would get angry with them and shove them or do something immature which caused more people to judge me before they know me.The music that I listen to now Is such a drastic change from when I was kid which has helped me fit in during social events or parties. When I use to be unfairly judged I would be listening to hip hop music and the language could not be comprehended by kids in my class. They would be listening to the rock music that I did like but didnt always listen to because I was raised listening to hip hop. I still love some hip hop music as I did when I was kid but as of now I listen to everything from rock to house/techno music. The crazy thing Is the kids that unfairly Judged me before who I I have been listening to since a child. Being unfairly Judged would dampen my mood a lot when I was younger because I took the Judgments of others as me being wrong. I havent noticed any unfair judgment as I got older because I dont think I really care much about it anymore besides my weight problem. Everyone that has matured from those days still make ekes here and there about things I may wear or my weight but I Just try to laugh it off because I know Vie come a long way since wearing the really baggy clothes and long shorts.I believe that in this society most of people very shallow because you rarely see a very attractive girl with a heavier guy or someone who dresses oddly, however it is the same way for guys who are the typical size and wear the dress clothes. I was unfairly Judged when I was a kid and maybe I still am now, despite this, I find myself doing the same exact thing to others by being very shallow which I know I need to change.

Math Disablities in 4th & 5th Graders Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Math Disablities in 4th & 5th Graders - Essay Example It is an important issue never the less and teachers need to be aware of the complexities of dyscalculia and how to work with students. Using appropriate interventions will make the difference for the student. To do this is not as easy as there is a wide range of math disabilities and the difficulties vary from student to student. What is math disability? Even attempting to define math disability is not straightforward. Definitions vary. Wadlington and Wadlington (2008) defined dyscalculia as â€Å"a neurologically based disorder of mathematical abilities†. They further explain that it â€Å"originates as a genetic or congenital disorder of the brain and causes a discrepancy between an individual’s general cognitive level and mathematical abilities† (p. ). Vaidya (2004) states that dyscalculia is â€Å"characterized by a poor understanding of the number concept and the number system†. (p.717). She presents some of the common areas where math disability is manifested including counting, giving and receiving change, learning abstract concepts of time and direction. Developmental dyscalculia is the term sometimes used to describe math disabilities. Shalev (2004) defines developmental dyscalculia as â€Å"a specific learning disability affecting the normal acquisition of arithmetic sk ills in spite of normal intelligence, emotional stability, scholastic opportunity and motivation†. (p.766). Three subtypes of dyscalculia have been identified. One is the difficulty retrieving arithmetic facts, called semantic memory; another is the difficulty in understanding and applying math procedures, called procedural memory; and the third is difficulty understanding spatially represented numerical information, called visuospatial memory. (Wadlington and Wadlington, 2008). In general children with dyscalculia find learning and recalling number facts difficult. As a consequence of the difficulty in defining math disabilities, diagnosing is also a

The brand strategies which Toyota May Adopt to improve tarnished brand Essay - 2

The brand strategies which Toyota May Adopt to improve tarnished brand image - Essay Example The domestic markets have turned into global markets that heightened competition rivalry among existing domestic and new multinational enterprises. Since last two decades, the society has been experiencing a rapid technological improvement. The technological advancements have led to change the structure of entire trade and business. The management tasks and operational process are now backed with technology like e-commerce and e-business. A better grip of technological advancement helps a business organisation to gain an upper hand position. Finally, enhancing economic condition of consumers and increasing their disposable income have strengthened their purchasing power. This has also changed their consumer buying behaviours and they have developed their specific brand preferences (Vashisht, 2005, p.68). In the modern and competitive business world, business organisations always try to position itself in market for avoiding unnecessary competitions. In this process they aim to achiev e strong competitive advantages and core competencies that enable them to gain upper hand position in the market. ... her explains that the objective of branding is not just to protect yourself as being better than your competitors, but branding seeks to position your brand so uniquely in the minds of your consumers so that they perceive your product as the only possible solution to your problem or need (Morita, 2010). The objectives of good branding are as follows: Deliver message clearly Confirm credibility Connect target prospects emotionally Motivates buyers Concretes User Loyalty The increasing demands of brand development is due to two primary factors i.e. urge for acquiring higher market share and increasing concern towards consumer value (Verma, 2009). The modern management style and thought process of decision makers have transformed. The modern management concept focuses more on long term benefits by creating a sustainable businesses environment where stakeholders’ wealth and value creation is the first priority. When a company is able to meet these responsibilities towards stakehol ders, society, community and environment, it is able to create a high brand image in the market. Managements in modern organisation culture follow management theories and models which are very effective in achieving common organisational goal. In this respect, they concentrate on two-way communicational system within cross-functional teams and with their consumers. For example, the existing management system deliberately tries to implement integrated marketing communication that focuses on better marketing strategy for enhancing consumer values. These efforts made by the modern managements are very helpful in brand development and hence, they try to draft specific plans for branding strategies (Hitt et al 2009). Recently in 2010, Toyota faced a great deal of tarnishing of its brand image because

Communication Barriers Essay Example for Free

Communication Barriers Essay The problem that is to be addressed will be the communication barriers between employees and management. Some people have a problem with the way they receive the conversation or the way people talk to them and other people have a problem with the way they use their verbal and nonverbal communication skills. There are many ways to determine the proper way to communicate and to miscommunicate. Solving the problem of non-communication in the work place can be easy, but at the same time it can be very costly. The movie Devil Wears Prada is a great example of miscommunication. The main owner, editor or â€Å"CEO† of that corporation talks to the new girl as if she has worked there for years. The new girl is given directions and does not know how to proceed with them because she was not trained properly. In the movie the CEO makes a statement â€Å"Emily? Emily? † Finally someone tells the new girl that the CEO means her and the new girl goes into the office. CEO states â€Å"Get me that guy I talked to yesterday about the skirts and scarfs on the phone. † The new girl goes back out of the office to her desk and starts looking for a phone number, but she has no idea who to look for, the first assistant, just coming back from lunch, asked the new girl â€Å"What are you doing? † The new girl tells the first assistant what the CEO said and within seconds the CEO was talk to the guy she spoke to yesterday about the skirts and scarfs. In this incident, there was minimal communication and there are also many ways to fix this. For instance, the first assistant should have taught the new girl about the phone directory, terms, and where to find other things that could be useful. If the new girl was trained correctly, then while the first assistant was at lunch, the new girl would have been able to handle the phones, but would still have problems not knowing what person the CEO talked to yesterday about the skirts or scarfs. With this part of the communication barrier, the CEO should have been more informative on the information that she gave the new girl. For instance, if the CEO had given the name of the person she talked to, then it would have narrowed down the people she to yesterday or vise-versa, or the CEO could have given the company name and with the correct training could have determined the person she talked to the day before. There are many ways to work on the communication between the CEO, manager, and another associate. The main objective should be to train the person properly before â€Å"throwing them to the wolves,† or putting them â€Å"on the sales floor† If the person is trained properly then they will learn the terminology, phone directory, and also know where to find other things related to going the job. When giving tasks to carry out, you would need to give specifics on what you want and names or descriptions of what is expected. When receiving the tasks, if you do not understand, then ask questions on what the other person is looking for or how to go about doing getting the job done.

In Jane Eyre Charlotte Bronte created a novel of social protest. :: Free Essay Writer

In Jane Eyre Charlotte Bronte created a novel of social protest. Discuss why and how she did this. Step one -------- Social protest is †¦ Mainly Charlotte Bronte was protesting against the position of middle class women, social inequality between the rich and the poor and marrying above or below your status. These issues were very important in the Victorian times. Step Two -------- Charlotte Bronte was very critical of the Victorian society. To her every thing was not right (fair). The book ‘Jane Eyre’ is based on a true-life story. It is like a reflection of Charlotte Bronte’s life and the way she was treated. In the book, Jane Eyre is treated very badly because she is an orphan which means she has no money or savings. Jane Eyre lives with her aunt but because Jane Eyre is poor she is treated differently from her cousins. Her aunt feels that she or her children, who are wealthy, can’t be around Jane Eyre because she is a poor child. This is like the life Charlotte Bronte was living. Charlotte Bronte was born 1816 on April the 21st in Thornton, Yorkshire, England. Her father was Patrick Bronte (1777-1861), an Anglican clergyman. Irish-born, he had changed his name from the more commonplace Brunty. Charlotte Bronte’s mother was Maria Branwell Bronte; altogether she had six children including charlotte. Mrs. Bronte was awarded a rectorship in Yorkshire 1820. Soon after, Mrs. Bronte and the two eldest children (Maria and Elizabeth) died, leaving the father to care for the remaining three girls, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. Also a boy, Patrick Branwell. An aunt, Elizabeth Branwell, aided their upbringing. She left her native Cornwall and took up residence with the family at Haworth. In 1824 Charlotte and Emily, together with their elder sisters attended Clergy Daughters' School at Cowan Bridge, near Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire. The fees were low, the food unattractive, and the discipline harsh. They did not like it one bit. Charlotte always complained and made a fuss. Charlotte and Emily returned home in June 1825, and for more than five years the Bronte children learned and played there, writing and telling romantic tales for one another and inventing imaginative games played out at home or on the desolate moors. In 1831 Charlotte was sent to Miss Wooler's school at Roe Head, near Huddersfield, where she stayed a year and made some lasting friendships. In 1839 Charlotte declined a proposal from the Rev. Henry Nussey, her friend's brother, and some months later one from another young clergyman. At the same time Charlotte's ambition to make the practical best of her talents and the need to pay Branwell's debts urged her to spend some months as governess with the Whites at Upper wood House,
